Dear Steger School District 194 Parents and Guardians,
Starting today, students, teachers, and parents across Illinois have the opportunity to participate in the 11th annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey helps create a detailed picture of your child’s school and allows you to share your thoughts on key elements of school effectiveness.

Administered by UChicago Impact on behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education, the survey gathers data on five key indicators linked to student success:

• Effective Leaders
• Collaborative Teachers
• Involved Families
• Supportive Environments
• Ambitious Instruction

If at least 20% of parents in each school participate, a Parent Report will be generated.  If you have children in more than one school, you can take the survey for each school. 

Your input is valuable in shaping improvements at your child’s school. All responses are confidential.

To take the survey, visit  http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/ and select the appropriate survey.  When searching for the school enter Cook for the county, then search for your child's school.
