Dear District 194 Families and Community,

Welcome back to school and Happy New Year. As we return to school today I am happy to share some exciting information with all of you. 

Just before winter break the Steger School District 194 Board of Education unanimously approved our district’s new Strategic Plan. The strategic plan is a comprehensive roadmap that marks a new chapter in our journey to ensure every student has the resources, support, and opportunities to succeed. This plan aligns our district’s efforts toward shared goals that will positively impact students, staff, and the entire community. We look forward to collaborating with all of you to bring this vision to life.

Community-Driven and Inclusive
This strategic plan was developed through meaningful engagement with our community. Through surveys and focus groups we were able to involve a diverse group of stakeholders, ensuring the plan reflected the unique needs and values of Steger 194. Together, we identified key skills and priorities essential to fostering student success, equity, and inclusion. This collaborative effort has resulted in a plan that is both actionable and representative of the voices in our community.

Mission and Vision: Excellence for All
Our new mission and vision statements embody a steadfast commitment to achieving academic and personal excellence for every student. These guiding principles will shape every decision we make and foster a culture of excellence across the district.

A Clear Path Forward
The strategic plan outlines clear objectives and expectations for success, emphasizing:

• The Portrait of a Graduate: A framework defining the critical skills and attributes we want our students to develop during their time in District 194. These skills include critical thinking, lifelong learning, resiliency, leadership, effective communication, and global citizenship.

• High Standards for All: Academic and personal excellence are prioritized for students and staff, creating an environment that inspires achievement.

• Equity and Inclusion: Resources will be allocated to meet the diverse needs of every student, ensuring all have an equal opportunity to thrive.

• Accountability: A clear roadmap ensures the district remains focused on its goals and prepares students for bright futures.
